There are parts of us that require awareness and expression to bring wholeness within our being. By thinking outside of the box or perhaps deleting it and just thinking broadly, we can connect with a whole range of possibilities and reconnect with what we really love and desire to bring into our lives.
It is very easy and convenient to allow other people and circumstances to define us. We can allow these boundaries or barriers to limit whom we believe we are and what we are able, or unable to do. This can narrow our world and limit us from deriving potential choices and possibilities. In turn, we will have less chance to discover who we really can be.
It can sometimes be easier to blame others and crawl back into our cozy comfort zone, then to face a new beginning and work hard to develop our inborn talents and abilities, in order to fulfill our our potential and our purpose. Some of these people may even be unaware they have a restricting effect on us. Perhaps on some level, they face issues of unfulfillment and want to bring others to a place where they are holding. To add to the broth, circumstances may be presented to us that may throw us off, if we allow it, and we might think we cannot move forward. It is us up to us to disengage from imposed and self-imposed illusions and find the key to open up the door to a new expanded horizon.
Here are some easy, yet meaningful steps to help us move forward, in order to get in touch with our authentic selves:
Allow yourself some alone time.
Think about and write down all the things you love to do, and your “why” for wanting to do them. Then come up with a life’s mission.
Write long term goals of where you would like to see yourself in 5 years.
Write short-term goals that lead to the long-term goals.
Create affirmations in the present tense, as if they have already manifested. Use adjectives, adverbs, etc., that express deep emotion and enthusiasm.
As coach Lou Tice suggests, say each affirmation at least twice a day - three times each. The best time is in the morning, when you wake up and in the evening, before you go to sleep. The first time believe them to be true. The second time feel them with great emotion. The third time visualize yourself having achieved that goal already.
Throughout the day check in with your self talk and if anything is self negating. If so, be sure to cancel. You can say something like "cancel cancel".
Fill out your calendar with tasks to fulfill each short-term goal, prioritizing and taking on the ones that are more challenging first.
Make sure that you have goals that allow for a balanced and well rounded life, in terms of other areas that need more attention, ie., relationships, exercise, spirituality, hobbies - in order to experience fulfillment.
Recognize that every day you are improving and feeling happy with each accomplishment.
Enjoy each moment and when times get challenging, search for the meaning and purpose that can lift you to the next stepping stone of a new beginning.
Pray for guidance and strength. Even in good times, we require assistance, support and mercy.
Finally, there are many journeys throughout our lives. Connecting to each one with positivity, wholeness, and peace of mind - can joyfully lead us to fulfill our purpose.
